Join our dynamic team at Setsquare Recruitment as a Construction Site Operative, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring our site remains safe, efficient, and organised. We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual who is ready to contribute to our projects and support skilled trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Maintenance: Sweep the site to keep walkways and vehicle access points clear of obstacles and hazards.
- Waste Management: Remove rubbish and debris, ensuring recycling practices are followed to minimise wastage.
- Material Handling: Unload and transport materials across the site efficiently.
- Assistance to Trades: Provide support to skilled trades, including preparation work, material movement, and handling basic tools.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team, communicating with all areas of the site.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is carried out to specifications and is defect-free.
- Independent Work: Demonstrate initiative and work independently when assigned tasks.
- Flexibility: Adapt to various tasks and duties as requested by Site Management.
- Punctuality: Arrive on time and be available to work as scheduled.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant Safety, Health, and Environmental legislation.
- Professional Representation: Represent Setsquare with a professional demeanour in both appearance and attitude.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- CSCS Card: Must possess a valid CSCS Green card (paper certificates are not accepted unless proof of application is provided).
- Instruction Compliance: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Must bring 6-point PPE (unbranded) including:
- Hard Hat
- Safety Boots
- Hi-Vis Vest
- Gloves
- Safety Glasses
- 4 Point Chin Strap
- Construction Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction procedures and safety standards.
- Manual Handling Experience: Previous experience in manual handling is beneficial.
- Reliability: Be dependable, punctual, and hard-working.
